We often been asked by new customers: “I want to buy inspection line to detect both trucks and light vehicles. The max curb weight of the truck is about 18T. What inspection line do you think I should choose?” In this case, we normally recommend 10T test lane.
“10T? Are you kidding?”, this reaction is quite often.
Why 10T test lane is enough for a 18T truck?
Actually we are talking about two concepts.
3T 5T 10T 15T, mean the maximum single axle load of the vehicle that the test lane could measure. While customer always mention the curb weight of the vehicle.
We take the 18T vehicle which mentioned earlier for example, if it has two axles, then its single axle weight is 9T, our 10T test lane is enough for it. Jevol test lane can test maximum 9 axles, so the only thing you need to figure out, is the single axle load of the vehicles that you will frequently test. No need care about the curb weight of them.
Selecting an appropriate inspection line, could also help you save investment. If you won’t test super heavy vehicle, 10T inspection line is good for ordinary trucks. It is not necessary to choose 15T. While we don’t recommend you use 15T test lane to test cars, due to the huge weight difference between heavy trucks and cars, the sensor precision for 3T and 15T test lane are different, it will affect the testing result.
