The Reset Function of the Play Detector (hereinafter referred to as PD) means that after the sliding plates finish moving, they can automatically return to the initial position to facilitate the next inspection.
For the PD without Reset Function, when it starts checking the vehicle chassis, the initial position of the sliding plate is unpredictable, and the connector of suspension system or steering system is still in the initial state which is not stretched. When the sliding plate moves, there may be insufficient moving distance to prop open the suspension system or steering system connector. When moving in the opposite direction, the force direction of the connector of the suspension system or steering system changes, and the connector may also not be able to be propped open enough. It will take several round trips to achieve the effect we want. Such operation will cause the tire to slip on the sliding plate, and may damage the tire if the PD sliding plate is made of corundum sand or similar material.
For those PD with Reset Function, the X direction or Y direction of its movement is from – 50mm to 50mm, it can pull the suspension system or steering system connecting parts to back and forth, or left and right, which can help check chassis clearance status more faster and convenient. If using PD that can move in multiple directions (front, rear, left, right, left front, left rear, right front, right rear), which can make vehicle suspension system or steering system move in more directions, the inspection efficiency will be higher.
